Animal migration

Animal migration is when animals travel a long distance on a seasonal basis. Reasons for migration include climate, food, and mating.

All living species of birds have wings.

The word "animal" comes from the Latin word animalis. Animalis means "having breath".

Autotroph

An autotroph is an organism that can synthesize its food from inorganic substances by using heat or light as a source of energy. Plants and algee are examples of autotrophs.

Heterotroph

A heterotroph is an organism that cannot make its own food from inorganic materials. They must rely on organic substances for nutrition. All animals are heterotrophs.
